STALKER 2 is one of the most demanding games to launch in 2024, so the more graphical firepower you can bring to the table, the more likely you and your PC will survive the radiated wastelands. If you’re contemplating upgrading to a custom PC – or just replacing your GPU with something better – you’ll want to pick something that can unlock higher frame rates and detail levels for your STALKER 2 experience.
Fortunately, GSC Game World has given us detailed system requirements for a whole range of fidelities and settings, so you can fine tune your system for exactly the kind of settings you want to target.
Note: At the time of writing, near the game’s launch, there are a lot of concerns about STALKER 2 optimization. If you want to give yourself a better chance at smooth gameplay, bring more power to the table than you should need.
If you have an older gaming PC, you should still be able to get STALKER 2 up and running. The CPUs and graphics cards in this setup are some seriously popular choices from their time, but they are aged and out of relevance in 2024. Still, they’re perfectly serviceable for esports and casual gaming, and now you can continue to use them to play STALKER 2. The downside is that it will only let you play at low settings, 1080p resolution, at 30 frames per second – and you’ll need to enable some kind of upscaler, whether it’s DLSS, TSR, FSR, or XeSS.
If you can’t upgrade your current PC to hit these requirements, it’s probably time for a new PC. But never fear, you don’t need to spend thousands of pounds to get a great gaming PC with Chillblast. Indeed, some of our best bang-for-buck systems can be found at the more affordable end of the spectrum.
Our best system for this is the Chillblast Ryzen 5 RTX 4060 Ti gaming PC. It’s built around the fantastically capable NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card, which usually can only be found in much more expensive gaming PCs, and is far more capable than the GPUs recommended for low settings. We’ve paired that with an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, which has six high-powered Zen 3 cores, easily outperforming the older processor recommendations.
It also has 16GB of fast DDR4 memory, and a terabyte of SSD storage – plenty for STALKER 2 and a range of other games besides.
This system should be enough to run the game at 60 FPS at least and gives you scope for raising some of the settings to make the game look a little prettier than the base configuration.
Want to run STALKER 2 at medium settings across the board and maintain a solid 60 FPS at 1080p? You’ll need a more powerful PC with more capable graphics, and a CPU with a few more cores.
For that sort of STALKER 2 experience, GSC Game World recommends a much newer processor with at least eight cores. We get our first modern GPU recommendation here, too, although older powerhouses like the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER and Radeon RX 5700 XT are still relevant. These NVIDIA cards also support DLSS, so although GSC doesn’t state it as a requirement for this tier, those GPUs can utilize it to boost frame rates. AMD cards at this tier can make use of FSR.
The custom PC we recommended for low settings would almost match these specifications, but its CPU is a mere hexacore, so it may not quite have the grunt needed to run this game as you want at these settings – even if it is newer and runs at a higher clock speed. With that in mind, we’d recommend the Chillblast Evolution Core i5 RTX 4060 gaming PC for medium-setting gameplay. It has the slightly less powerful GPU with the GeForce RTX 4060 - it gives you all the power you need for higher detail settings and also unlocks DLSS 3 and frame generation to help uplift your FPS.
The Core i5-14400F CPU however is much better. It has 10 cores in total (six performance, four efficiency), and operates at a high clock speed, giving you enough power to handle higher frame rates in this demanding game. It’s a fantastic compliment to the RTX 4060, and with 16GB of fast DDR5 memory, it’ll keep your whole PC feeling snappy and responsive whether you’re gaming or doing something else.
It also features a highly efficient power supply, a quiet all-in-one water cooler for the CPU, and a great-looking case with lots of room for upgrades and expansion in the future.
If you want to play at the settings that GSC Game World’s “Recommended” settings, where you have the game’s settings on High, at 1440p resolution and achieving an average of 60 FPS, you’ll need a much more powerful graphics card. And even then, GSC recommends enabling one of your supported upscaling technologies, whether that’s FSR, DLSS, Xess, or TSR.
The processors are no different from the suggested options for Medium settings, but the graphics cards are only a generation old at most – though you’re likely best off with one from the latest RTX 4000 or RX 7000 generation. They don’t just give you the best general performance in STALKER 2 and a range of other games, but they can make better use of upscaling algorithms, as well as supporting frame generation, for even greater performance advantages.
We wouldn’t blame you if your PC isn’t quite capable of meeting these system requirements. They’re steep! While you can just lower your settings or accept lower frame rates, you could also upgrade to a custom Chillblast gaming PC that gives you the power and feature support you need to make this game look as intended by the developers.

There’s even 2TB of storage space, which is enough to install STALKER 2 ten times over. That’s plenty of space for even some of the largest game libraries.
Want to play STALKER 2 at the highest possible settings, with the highest possible frame rates, and 4K resolution? You’re going to need one of the world’s most powerful gaming PCs. GSC Game World recommends processors and graphics cards from some of the latest generations from the major component makers, and lots of fast memory to go with it.
If you have a PC that can meet these specifications already, what are you doing here? You already know that your PC is the bees’ knees and that you won’t have any trouble playing any game at any setting.
Still, while GSC doesn’t suggest you need dynamic upscaling or frame generation to hit 4K at 60 FPS with the Epic preset enabled, it might still be worth considering. The higher-quality settings should give you a comparable visual experience to native but at higher frame rates. Frame generation isn’t for everyone, and still needs some work, but it’s one of the best ways to all but double your frame rate and this game supports both NVIDIA and AMD’s frame generation algorithms.
