Get Ready for Battlefield 6 – PC Requirements, Features & Best Builds
August 06, 2025
Introduction – The Battlefield Returns
After years of anticipation, Battlefield 6 officially launches on October 10, 2025, bringing the franchise back to its all-out warfare roots. Early access open beta weekends are scheduled in August (August 9–10 and 14–17) to give players a head start. The Battlefield series has a legacy spanning over two decades, known for large-scale battles, explosive destruction, and team-based tactics. Battlefield 6 aims to honour that legacy – think sprawling 128-player warfare, breathtaking set pieces, and tight squad teamwork – while pushing the formula forward. Let’s dive into what makes Battlefield 6 such a big deal for fans and what kind of PC hardware you’ll need to experience it smoothly.
What’s New in Battlefield 6?
Campaign & Setting

Set in 2027, Battlefield 6 drops you into a near-future global war. You’ll join Dagger 13, an elite multinational squad, as they battle against Pax Armata, a private military force rising amid global instability. The campaign spans intense missions across iconic hotspots including New York, Gibraltar, the Sahara, and Tajikistan, blending political drama with cinematic, tactical gameplay. For those who missed single-player in recent entries, the campaign is back and more explosive than ever.
Multiplayer Modes & Features

Multiplayer returns in full force with Battlefield’s classic modes: Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Domination, and more. A new mode, Escalation, introduces strategic zone control with all-out chaos.
At launch, there are 9 new maps, each built with varied combat zones for different playstyles—urban combat in Brooklyn, vehicle warfare in Tajikistan, high destruction in Gibraltar, and more. Fan-favourite Operation Firestorm makes a comeback, and a remastered Firestorm battle royale mode is also in the works as a free post-launch addition.
The enhanced Battlefield Portal returns too, offering deeper creative tools and scripting for community-made modes and remixes. With robust post-launch content planned, Battlefield 6’s multiplayer is built for long-term replayability.
Gameplay Innovations

Battlefield 6 introduces the Kinaesthetic Combat System (KCS), adding new depth to player movement and gunplay. You can now edge-lean around cover, drag downed teammates to safety, and mount weapons for increased accuracy. There’s even a new visual recoil mechanic that helps teach you to compensate as you shoot.
Tactical Destruction takes destruction to new strategic levels—blow out walls, use a sledgehammer to make new paths, or bring down entire structures to eliminate enemies or alter the map. Destruction is now predictable and tactical, making every match feel dynamic without devolving into chaos.
A proper class system also returns, with four core roles: Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon. Each has defined gear and abilities, and a new Training system allows players to unlock perks mid-match based on their chosen role. Balanced squads who play their roles effectively will thrive—just as Battlefield always intended.
PC Requirements – Can Your Rig Run It?
All these grand battles and visual fireworks beg the question: what kind of PC do you need to run Battlefield 6? The good news is that the official PC requirements, released by EA, are fairly reasonable – you won’t necessarily need a bleeding-edge rig to join the fight. Let’s break down the minimum and recommended specs:
Minimum Requirements (1080p @ Low Settings)
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (6GB) or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (6GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: ~55 GB free (HDD is usable but not ideal)
- Network: Broadband Internet
According to EA, this minimum spec (notably a 2017-era 6-core Intel CPU and a midrange 2019 GPU) will run the game at 1080p resolution with low graphics settings, roughly around 30–60 FPS. In other words, if you have at least an RTX 2060 or equivalent, and a decent 6-core processor, you can get Battlefield 6 up and running. 16 GB of RAM is listed as the baseline, which effectively makes dual-channel memory a must (8 GB won’t cut it). The 55 GB install size is surprisingly modest for a modern AAA shooter, though that’s likely the base game without optional high-res content.
Recommended Requirements (1440p @ High Settings)
- OS: Windows 11 64-bit (TPM 2.0 + Secure Boot enabled)
- CPU: Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700XRAM: 16 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8GB) or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: ~80 GB free (SSD strongly recommended)
- Network: Broadband Internet
The recommended spec is where you’ll really start to see Battlefield 6 shine. With this level of hardware – an 8-core/16-thread CPU and a powerful RTX 3060 Ti / RX 6700 XT GPU – you can expect to play at 1440p resolution on High settings, targeting around 60 FPS for smooth gameplay. In fact, EA’s guidance suggests that this recommended build can achieve ~60 FPS at 1440p/High, or well above 80 FPS if you drop to 1080p/Low for competitive performance. The jump to ~80 GB disk space indicates the full installation with all components (the difference from 55 GB likely includes the campaign, high-res textures or additional modes). Notably, Windows 11 is required for recommended settings – partly because the game’s anti-cheat (the new “Javelin” system) requires certain security features like Secure Boot and TPM 2.0, which are standard on Windows 11 systems. If you’re running Windows 10, you can still play, but for the best experience (and to enable all security features), Windows 11 64-bit is the way to go.
Special Notes
No Steam Deck Support: If you were hoping to play Battlefield 6 on the go with a Steam Deck, sadly EA has squashed that idea. The developers have stated there is “no dedicated support” for Steam Deck, likely because the required anti-cheat and security layers don’t play nice with SteamOS. In short, Battlefield 6 won’t run on Steam Deck out of the box. (It may be technically possible if you install Windows on a handheld, but that’s beyond the scope.) This is similar to other competitive games that mandate kernel-level anti-cheat and secure boot, which portable consoles often can’t accommodate.
Modular Installation: One convenient feature EA confirmed is that Battlefield 6 will allow modular installs – you can choose which components of the game to download. For example, if you only care about multiplayer, you could install just the multiplayer + Portal and skip the single-player campaign to save space. Conversely, if you’re just playing the campaign or offline Portal creations, you might omit multiplayer content. This flexibility is great given the full game could reach 80+ GB; it lets players optimise storage usage. There’s also talk of an optional HD texture pack that accounts for part of the extra download size, meaning you can opt out if your GPU is lower VRAM or if you don’t need ultra-high textures. All of this is a welcome trend – not every gamer needs every piece of content, and choosing what to install makes life easier.

With this configuration, the Titan is truly a 1440p gaming beast. You can expect to run Battlefield 6 at High or Ultra settings at 1440p and still hit smooth frame rates (60+ FPS typically, even in intense scenes). For competitive players who prefer 1080p to maximise frames, the Titan will easily push well into triple-digit FPS – perfect for fast-response monitors. The inclusion of 32GB DDR5 RAM means background tasks or future game updates won’t easily eat into your memory pool. And the RX 9070 GPU can take advantage of tech like AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) if you want even higher performance. Essentially, the Chillblast Titan is built to dominate Battlefield 6’s recommended specs, giving you leeway to crank up graphics or multitask as you please.

With the RTX 5080, you could even enable ray-traced effects (if the game implements them) and still maintain high FPS thanks to the power of the Ada Lovelace (or newer) architecture and DLSS AI upscaling. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D virtually guarantees that CPU performance will not be a limiting factor, even in epic 128-player battles with destruction happening all around. This rig is ready for the future, too – beyond BF6, it’s prepped for any new AAA title in the next few years. If you’re the type of gamer who wants maxed-out settings, no slowdowns, and bragging rights to owning a top-of-the-line PC, the Chillblast Forge is the answer.
