Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter that can be played solo or with friends and was released for PlayStation 5 and PC on February 8th 2024.

Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the game is a sequel to the 2015 top-down shooter Helldivers and sees players “join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy”.

Helldivers 2 Minimum Requirements

For 1080p at 30FPS with Graphics on Low:

To get Helldivers 2 up and running at 1080p resolution, with graphical settings on low but hitting a decent 30 FPS, PlayStation Studios says you don't need a particularly powerful PC. 

These specs are very typical of a lot of modern releases. Both the CPU and GPU options are a good few generations old now so most gaming PCs made within the last 8 or so years should be able to handle getting the game up and running. 

One area your system may be lacking, however, is having 100GB of storage space. When playing a fast-paced shooter, you need fast loading and render times, so consider upgrading your system with an SSD, even if it's a relatively small one.

If your PC just meets these specifications, however, you will need to be content with the lowest settings. You’ll only be able to play at around 1080p at 30 FPS with pretty much all the settings on low, which is fine if you’re playing on a small monitor, but if you’re trying to play on a larger monitor or even a TV, it’s not going to look great.

Helldivers 2 Recommended Requirements

For 1080p at 60FPS with Graphics on Medium:

According to PlayStation Studios, systems that fall within these recommended specifications will provide a solid gameplay experience at 1080p, increasing framerates to a smooth 60FPS, whilst also upgrading visual integrity to medium.

These recommended specs aren’t too big of a jump from the minimum requirements, with most components a only single generation younger being suggested.

However, upgrading to an RTX Nvidia GPU will provide access to other beneficial features such as DLSS technology that helps improve visual fidelity. 

One area your system may be lacking here though, is having 16GB of RAM. However, adding a second stick if your current system only has 8GB shouldn’t be too expensive of an upgrade.
