Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora PC Specs & Requirements

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is the highly anticipated upcoming game based on the popular Avatar film series by James Cameron, and will be released on December 7th 2023.

Published by Ubisoft, the game lets players step into the wonder of Pandora and “play as a Na’vi learning to reconnect with their own homeland while reckoning with the human militaristic corporation known as the RDA.”

As with any modern game release, knowing the system requirements necessary to run the game at optimal settings is vital for having an enjoyable gameplay experience. In this article, we’ll explore the PC specs required to run Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, as well as provide recommendations for those looking to upgrade their current setup.

So, read on to discover what hardware you will need to immerse yourself in the world of Pandora.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Minimum Requirements

  • Visual setting: 1080p, Low Preset with FSR2 Quality/30 FPS
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / Intel i7 8700K
  • GPU: AMD RX 5700 8GB / Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB / Intel ARC A750 8GB (REBAR ON)
  • RAM: 16 GB dual channel
  • Storage: 90 GB SSD

To get Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora up and running at 1080p resolution, with most settings on low, and a comfortable 30 FPS, Ubisoft says you don't need a particularly powerful PC.

Both the CPU and GPU options are a good few generations old now so most gaming PCs made within the last 5 or so years should be able to handle getting the game up and running.

One area your system may be lacking, however, is having 16GB of RAM. This is a very inexpensive and simple upgrade though, so make sure to add a second stick if your system only has 8GB or less.

Also, an area that will need attention is the storage space required to install the game. With a substantial 90 GB required, consider upgrading your system with an SSD for faster load times, even if it's a small one.

If your PC just meets these specifications, however, you will need to be content with the lowest settings. You’ll only be able to play at around 1080p at 25-30 FPS with pretty much all the settings on low, which is fine if you’re playing on a small monitor, but if you’re trying to play on a larger monitor or even a TV, it’s not going to look great.

What PC do we recommend?

A PC that we'd recommend at this level would be the Ignition Intel Core i3 GTX 1650 Gaming PC.

As the minimum specs listed are showing their age now, anything from the last 5 years will surpass it and so that’s the case with this PC.

It houses much newer components in the form of the Nvidia GTX 1650 GPU and the Intel i3 12100. Both parts are some of the best entry-level options on the market and offer excellent value for money for those looking for a more budget system that will still allow for moderate gaming.

It also comes stocked with the minimum requirement for RAM at 16GB, plus a huge 1TB SSD to store the game on giving you more than enough space for a few others too.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Recommended Requirements

  • Visual setting: 1080p, High Preset with FSR2 Quality/60 FPS
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x / Intel i5 11600k
  • GPU: AMD RX 6700 XT 12GB / Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8GB
  • RAM: 16 GB dual channel
  • Storage: 90 GB SSD

According to Ubisoft, systems that fall within these recommended specifications will provide a solid gameplay experience at 1080p, raising framerates from those achieved using the minimum specs to a smooth 60FPS, whilst also upgrading visual integrity.

These recommended specs are a pretty big jump from the minimum requirements though, with much more recent components being suggested. Both the CPU and GPU options are from the last 3 years and feature some great additional features, such as DLSS technology via the Nvidia RTX graphics card.

However, they are still on the more entry-level side of things so upgrading to a PC with them shouldn’t break the bank.

Although, if you have an older system that features the RTX 20 series cards, then you may still be able to get away with hitting 60FPS at high graphical settings. Even though those cards are two generations old now, they still provide great performance and should give you a smooth 1080p Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora experience.

What PC do we recommend?

A PC that we'd recommend at this level would be the Opal AMD Ryzen 5 RX 7600 Gaming PC.

Just as with our PC suggestion for the minimum specs, this PC features much more recent parts, upgrading the CPU to an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and the GPU to an AMD RX 7600. The combination of these newer parts means more future-proofing alongside a top-tier 1080p (and even 1440p) experience.

You also won’t miss out on using DLSS with this PC either as Ubisoft has stated that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will also support AMD’s version, known as FSR 2 (and FSR 3), on launch.

What do you need to play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at 1440p?

Ubisoft has also released official specs for a 1440p experience so if you want to enjoy Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at 1440p resolution at high graphical settings and 60FPS, you'll need a more powerful PC.

  • Visual setting: 1440p, High Preset with FSR2 Quality/60 FPS
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen5 5600x / Intel i5 11600k
  • GPU: AMD RX 6800 XT 16GB / Nvidia RTX 3080 10GB
  • RAM: 16 GB dual channel
  • Storage Space: 90 GB SSD

To hit these specs, consider a system like the Apex AMD Ryzen 7 RX 7900 XT Gaming PC.

This Chillblast PC features the AMD Ryzen 7 7700x processor, which offers excellent gaming performance and multitasking capabilities. Paired with the AMD RX 7900XT, you can expect smooth gameplay at 1440p and high settings.

It even comes with a massive 2TB SSD which is ample room for your game library, plus a huge 32GB of RAM.

What do you need to play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at 4K?

If you have the budget and want to enjoy fighting for Pandora at a glistening 4K, then you’ll need a pretty hefty PC to do so.

  • Visual setting: 4K, Ultra Preset with FSR2 Balanced/60 FPS
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen7 5800x3D / Intel i7 12700k
  • GPU: AMD RX 7900 XTX 24GB / Nvidia RTX 4080 16GB
  • RAM: 16 GB dual channel
  • Storage: 90 GB SSD

With that in mind, the perfect system for playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at 4K is the Apex AMD Ryzen 7 X3D RTX 4080 Gaming PC. It combines one of the best gaming processors in the world with one of the top graphics cards for a high-performance gaming PC that can do absolutely anything and everything.

The AMD Ryzen 7800X3D is a super-powered gaming processor that beats even some of the more expensive CPU models with higher core counts thanks to its blazing-fast onboard cache. That pairs perfectly with 32GB of high-speed DDR5 memory, and 2TB of PCIe 4 SSD storage for the most responsive gaming experience. It’s also ready for future games with Direct Storage support for even faster game load times.

To power that 4K experience, however, we need a powerful GPU and in the Nvidia RTX 4080 we have the perfect solution. It’s one of the most powerful graphics cards Nvidia has ever made and it will find playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at 4K an absolute cakewalk.

With full support for DLSS, it can drive up frame rates in supported games even more, and it even has some impressive ray tracing support in compatible games. Plus, its 16GB of VRAM makes it future-proofed against any advances in gaming technology in the years to come.

Conclusion

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s various system requirements provide options for all budgets. While meeting the minimum requirements will allow you to play the game, upgrading to a more powerful Chillblast PC will enhance your gaming experience, especially if you aim to play at higher resolutions and settings.
