NVIDIA's CES announcement and why it matters to you

At CES 2025, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang unveiled several groundbreaking products and technologies, it looks like gaming performance is going to be greatly enhanced with the new cards and there's a couple of other projects that are fast forwarding the future. What's more they've introduced us to a new word ... 'petaflop' anyone!

 GeForce RTX 50-Series graphics cards: the key announcements summarised!

Availability

These GPUs are expected to be available between late January and February 2025.

Architecture

Built on the new "Blackwell" architecture, these GPUs feature GDDR7 memory and support for DLSS 4.0, offering enhanced performance and visual fidelity. 

DLSS 4.0

The latest iteration of NVIDIA's AI-driven Deep Learning Super Sampling technology, DLSS 4.0 introduces Multi Frame Generation, which can multiply performance by up to 8x, significantly enhancing gaming experiences. 

Project DIGITS

A desktop AI supercomputer powered by the GB10 Blackwell Superchip, delivering up to 1 petaflop of AI performance. Aimed at data scientists and AI researchers and will be available in May 2025. 

NVIDIA Cosmos Platform

Advances in physical AI with new models and video data processing pipelines for robots, autonomous vehicles, and vision AI, facilitating the development of next-generation autonomous systems. Probably not one for the spare room in your average semi!
