With the newest game in the Battlefield franchise being released in the not too distant future, you may be asking yourself: can my PC run Battlefield 2042?
Ahead of their round of technical tests, EA DICE has revealed a list of both minimum and recommended PC specs needed to play Battlefield 2042. However, currently, these only serve as an estimate of the kind of system needed to play the game.
As the results from the tests start to roll in, changes may be made to these specs lists to better reflect the kind of PC builds that are optimised to provide smooth gameplay.
Until we know more, however, these are the minimum and recommended PC specs you should aim for in order to play Battlefield 2042.

Battlefield 2042 Minimum PC Specs
Minimum Specs | |
Operating System | 64-bit Windows 10 |
Processor (Intel) | Core i5 6600K |
Processor (AMD) | AMD FX-8350 |
Memory | 8GB |
Video Memory | 4GB |
GPU (Nvidia) | Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti |
GPU (AMD) | AMD Radeon RX 560 |
DirectX | 12 |
Systems that fall within these specifications will likely provide a solid 1080p gaming experience, with graphical settings on mid to high. However, you will have to sacrifice ray tracing and DLSS capabilities when using a GTX 10 series graphics card.

Recommended PC Specs
Recommended Specs | |
Operating System | 64-bit Windows 10 |
Processor (Intel) | Core i7 4790 |
Processor (AMD) | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
Memory | 16GB |
Video Memory | 8GB |
GPU (Nvidia) | Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 |
GPU (AMD) | AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT |
DirectX | 12 |
Systems that fall within these specifications will likely provide an excellent gameplay experience at both 1080p and 1440p, keeping framerates high whilst maintaining visual integrity.
The RTX 2060 graphics card also has the ability to provide framerates upwards of 60 fps when playing with ray tracing turned on at 1080p, even when the visual settings are set to Ultra.
What PC Do You Need?
What PC you need for Battlefield 2042 all depends on the type of gameplay experience you desire. If you want to play the game at 1440p on a high refresh-rate monitor with settings set to high (or even ultra), then you’ll need to aim for a top-tier system.
However, if you don’t care as much for super realistic graphics and instead want to focus more on achieving the highest framerates possible, then a slightly lower-tier PC would suit your needs.
Fortunately, both the minimum and recommended PC specs currently released by EA aren’t too taxing. They make use of last-generation components which means that most systems built with these specs in mind won’t be too heavy on the wallet.
