What Is Apex Legends?
Apex Legends is a fast-paced, free-to-play battle royale shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. Released in 2019, it blends tactical squad-based gameplay with fast movement, gunplay, and unique character abilities. Unlike many other shooters, Apex Legends emphasizes teamwork, hero-based mechanics, and fluid mobility like sliding and climbing.
Up to 60 players are dropped into a large open map, scavenging for weapons, armour, and gear. Players compete in teams of two or three, and the last team standing wins.

Meet the Legends
What makes Apex Legends stand out from other battle royales is its diverse cast of characters, known as "Legends." Each Legend has a distinct passive, tactical, and ultimate ability that fits into roles like offense, defense, recon, or support. Whether you’re teleporting with Wraith, launching missiles with Bangalore, or reviving teammates as Lifeline, there’s a Legend to match every playstyle.
There are now 25+ Legends to choose from, each with their own backstory and unique gameplay advantages. New Legends are introduced every season, keeping the game fresh and strategic.

Game Modes and Maps
Apex Legends isn’t just one mode on one map. It offers:
- Battle Royale (Trios/Duos) – Classic last-squad-standing on rotating maps like World’s Edge, Olympus, and Storm Point.
- Ranked Mode – Competitive matches with a skill-based ranking system and seasonal rewards.
- Mixtape / Limited-Time Modes – Smaller-scale modes like Team Deathmatch, Control, and rotating LTMs that offer fast-paced fun outside of the standard battle royale.
- Arenas (retired in 2023) – A 3v3 round-based mode that focused on small-scale tactical play.
